Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the 3 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon.

  8. Place the coated balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
