- 1 cup of rice
- 4 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
- Raisins or nuts for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a large pot, combine the rinsed rice, milk, sugar, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and cinnamon, if using.
- Let the pudding cool slightly before serving. Garnish with raisins or nuts if desired.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, use whole milk or a combination of milk and cream.
- Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less sugar.
