Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red gel food coloring
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until glossy.
  3. Add eggs, vanilla, red food coloring, and vinegar. Mix well.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir just until combined.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until center is just set and edges are firm.
  7. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Use gel food coloring for vibrant color without thinning the batter. For a clean cut, chill before slicing. Optional: swirl in cream cheese before baking.
