Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Place one slice of bread in the skillet and layer with mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, and basil leaves.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, then top with the second slice of bread.
  4. Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Carefully flip the sandwich and add the remaining olive oil to the skillet.
  6. Cook until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
