- 2 slices of bread
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Place one slice of bread in the skillet and layer with mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, and basil leaves.
- Season with salt and pepper, then top with the second slice of bread.
- Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and add the remaining olive oil to the skillet.
- Cook until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
