A refreshing and creamy green pea salad recipe by Paula Deen, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients

- 2 cups frozen green peas, thawed
- 1 cup diced cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the thawed green peas, cheddar cheese, and red onion.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the dressing over the pea mixture and stir until well combined.
- If using, fold in the crumbled bacon.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

- For a lighter version, you can use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
