Description

A delicious and easy recipe for crispy oven-fried feta rolls, perfect as an appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 200g feta cheese
  • 4 sheets of phyllo pastry
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a bowl, crumble the feta cheese and mix it with oregano and black pepper.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush it with olive oil.
  4. Place another sheet on top and brush it again with olive oil.
  5. Cut the layered phyllo into strips about 10cm wide.
  6. Place a spoonful of the feta mixture at one end of each strip.
  7. Fold the sides over the filling and roll it up tightly.
  8. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve warm with a side of tzatziki or your favorite dipping sauce.
  • For a spicier version, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the feta mixture.
