Delightful muffins filled with rich Nutella and coated with a sweet cinnamon sugar, perfect for any occasion.

- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup Nutella
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F/180C and grease a mini muffin pan.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl.
- Beat together butter and sugar in a standing mixer on medium speed for 3 minutes.
- Mix in egg, vanilla extract, and milk until combined.
- Reduce mixer speed to low and add half of the flour mixture until just combined, then add the rest.
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of batter into each muffin cavity, layer with 1/2 teaspoon Nutella, and cover with more batter until about ¾ full.
- Bake for about 10 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon together for topping in a small bowl.
- Dip the top of each muffin in melted butter and then in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
Notes
Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for better mixing. Avoid overmixing to keep muffins fluffy.
