Description

A delightful and easy recipe for homemade no-knead bread that develops rich flavors and a beautiful crust through slow fermentation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Add water to the dry ingredients.
  3. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
  5. Let it sit at room temperature overnight (12-18 hours).
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  7. Turn out the dough on a floured surface and shape it gently into a ball.
  8. Let it rest while the oven heats.
  9. Transfer the dough to the preheated Dutch oven and cover with the lid.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

For best results, avoid skipping the overnight rise and use a hot Dutch oven.
