Deliciously crispy mini blooming onions made healthier in the air fryer, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients

- Small onions
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- Oil for spraying
Instructions
- Cut the tops off the onions and make a few cuts down the sides to create ‘petals’. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
- Dip the onions in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Place in the air fryer basket and spray lightly with oil.
- Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Soak onions longer for more petals, adjust spices to preference, and avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
