Description

Delicious and vibrant fish tacos paired with a zesty lime crema, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb White Fish Fillets (Cod, Mahi-Mahi, or Tilapia)
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 limes (juice and zest)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro
  • 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 8 pieces Corn or Flour Tortillas
  • Optional Toppings (Avocado slices, hot sauce, or pickled onions)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Pat the fish fillets dry and place them on a plate.
  3. Drizzle 2 tbsp olive oil over the fish.
  4. Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper over the fish, rubbing the spices evenly into the fillets.
  5. Cook the seasoned fillets in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they flake easily with a fork. Remove the fish from the skillet and allow it to rest.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, lime zest, and minced garlic until smooth and creamy. Add fresh cilantro and mix well.
  7. Warm tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  8. Assemble the tacos with shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and sliced onion. Flake the cooked fish on top and drizzle with zesty lime crema.
  9. Top with additional cilantro or optional toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use the freshest fish available for the best flavor, and don’t be shy with the zesty lime crema.
