- 1 lb White Fish Fillets (Cod, Mahi-Mahi, or Tilapia)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 limes (juice and zest)
- 1 clove Garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro
- 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
- 1 cup Shredded Carrots
- 1/2 cup Red Onion
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 8 pieces Corn or Flour Tortillas
- Optional Toppings (Avocado slices, hot sauce, or pickled onions)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Pat the fish fillets dry and place them on a plate.
- Drizzle 2 tbsp olive oil over the fish.
- Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper over the fish, rubbing the spices evenly into the fillets.
- Cook the seasoned fillets in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they flake easily with a fork. Remove the fish from the skillet and allow it to rest.
- In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, lime zest, and minced garlic until smooth and creamy. Add fresh cilantro and mix well.
- Warm tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
- Assemble the tacos with shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and sliced onion. Flake the cooked fish on top and drizzle with zesty lime crema.
- Top with additional cilantro or optional toppings. Serve immediately.
