Description

A delicious and hearty meatloaf served with a rich mushroom gravy.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  5. While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the mushroom gravy. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned.
  7. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine.
  8. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
  9. Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve the meatloaf with mushroom gravy on top.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, you can use ground turkey instead of beef.
  • Feel free to add your favorite herbs and spices to the meatloaf mixture.
  • Leftover meatloaf can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
