Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- Divide the dough in half and color one half with red food coloring.
- Roll out both doughs into ropes and twist them together to form a candy cane shape.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Sprinkle with red and green sugar sprinkles while still warm.
