Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Marinate the flank steak in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Grill or pan-sear the steak over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  4. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  5. In serving bowls, layer cooked rice, sliced steak, kimchi, and top with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add gochujang to the marinade.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
