Description

A deliciously tangy dessert that captures the essence of key limes in a creamy filling, all nestled in a buttery crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup fresh key lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • Whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix well.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a pie dish to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
  6. Pour the filling into the cooled crust.
  7. Bake for an additional 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours before serving.
  9. Top with whipped cream before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense lime flavor, use fresh key limes if available.
  • Make sure to chill the pie thoroughly for the best texture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
