- 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 7 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup bottled lime juice
- Zest of 1-2 limes (to taste)
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Whip the heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
- Combine softened cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk in another bowl and mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add bottled lime juice and lime zest to the cream cheese mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
- Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until completely combined.
- Prepare the graham cracker crust by mixing graham cracker crumbs, 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar, and melted butter in a separate bowl until crumbly.
- Layer the bottom of mason jars with a generous tablespoon of the graham cracker mixture.
- Spoon a layer of the key lime filling over the graham cracker layer.
- Repeat the process with another layer of graham cracker crumbs and then key lime filling until jars are full, finishing with the filling.
- Chill the jars in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes or overnight to let the flavors meld together and the filling firm up.
Notes
For a tropical touch, garnish with whipped cream and additional lime zest before serving. Consider using sugar-free alternatives for a diabetic-friendly option.
