Description

A delicious and fun appetizer that combines the flavors of jalapeño poppers with crispy onion rings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the onions into thick rings, separating the rings.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and jalapeños until well combined.
  3. Stuff each onion ring with the cheese mixture.
  4. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Dredge each stuffed onion ring in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
