- 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ cup of water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Stir in the water and cornstarch until the mixture is well blended.
- Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the apples are soft and slightly caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool while you prepare the cream.
- Whisk the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
- Spoon the whipped cream over the cooled apple mixture just before serving.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before serving for optimal enjoyment.
Notes
For a decorative touch, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top of the cream just before serving. You can prepare the apple mixture in advance and bake it just before serving for fresh warmth.
