Description
These Honey BBQ Beef Tacos are sweet, smoky, and family-approved. Ground beef is simmered with garlic butter, BBQ sauce, and honey, then tucked into warm tortillas with fresh toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 8–10 small tortillas (corn or flour)
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, coleslaw, avocado slices, chopped cilantro, lime wedges
Instructions
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, cooking until browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Stir in smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add BBQ sauce and honey, simmering for 5 minutes until the beef is glossy and coated.
- Warm tortillas in a dry skillet until soft and pliable.
- Assemble tacos with beef filling and desired toppings. Serve with lime wedges.
Notes
- Use shredded beef (like chuck roast) instead of ground beef for a heartier version.
- Adjust honey to taste—start with less if you prefer a smokier flavor.
- Reheat leftovers in a skillet with a splash of BBQ sauce to keep them moist.
