- 1 cup strawberry jam

- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add the diced butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
- Divide the dough in half, shape into discs, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out one disc of dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into rectangles and place half of them on a baking sheet.
- Spread a tablespoon of strawberry jam on each rectangle, leaving a border around the edges.
- Top with the remaining rectangles and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the tarts cool, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the icing.
- Drizzle the icing over the cooled pop tarts and let set before serving.
Notes
- For a flakier crust, ensure the butter is very cold.
- You can substitute the strawberry jam with any other fruit jam of your choice.
- These pop tarts can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
