Description

Discover the Secret to This Comfort Food Classic!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and sauté until tender.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine.
  5. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  6. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with gravy over the patties.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use beef broth instead of water.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
