Description

Delicious homemade garlic knots brushed with a buttery garlic-herb mixture, perfect for family gatherings or as a delightful side dish.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Let sit for 5–7 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix and knead for 6–8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough gently.
  6. Divide into 12 pieces and roll each piece into ropes.
  7. Tie each rope into knots.
  8. Place the knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and rise for another 20–25 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  10. Bake the knots for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Melt butter in a pan over low heat.
  12. Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté briefly.
  13. Stir in parsley.
  14. Brush the warm knots with the garlic butter mixture.
  15. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
  16. Serve warm and enjoy!

For diabetic-friendly options, consider using sugar substitutes. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
