Description

Crispy and flavorful homemade flautas filled with seasoned chicken and cheese, served with your choice of toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar, Monterey Jack)
  • 10-12 corn tortillas
  • Oil for frying or cooking spray for baking
  • Toppings (e.g., sour cream, guacamole, salsa)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (if baking) or heat oil in a frying pan (if frying).
  2. Mix the shredded chicken and cheese together in a bowl.
  3. Warm the corn tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet to make them pliable.
  4. Place a spoonful of the chicken and cheese mixture in each tortilla, roll them tightly, and secure with toothpicks if needed.
  5. Arrange the flautas on a baking sheet, spray with cooking spray, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden (if baking). For frying, carefully place rolled flautas in hot oil and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. Serve with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Don’t overfill the tortillas to prevent them from opening during cooking. Keeping your tortillas warm helps prevent tearing.
