Description
Crispy and flavorful homemade flautas filled with seasoned chicken and cheese, served with your choice of toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar, Monterey Jack)
- 10-12 corn tortillas
- Oil for frying or cooking spray for baking
- Toppings (e.g., sour cream, guacamole, salsa)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (if baking) or heat oil in a frying pan (if frying).
- Mix the shredded chicken and cheese together in a bowl.
- Warm the corn tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet to make them pliable.
- Place a spoonful of the chicken and cheese mixture in each tortilla, roll them tightly, and secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Arrange the flautas on a baking sheet, spray with cooking spray, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden (if baking). For frying, carefully place rolled flautas in hot oil and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Serve with your choice of toppings.
Notes
Don’t overfill the tortillas to prevent them from opening during cooking. Keeping your tortillas warm helps prevent tearing.
