Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a food processor, combine black beans, almond butter, honey (or maple syrup), cocoa powder, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 8×8 inch baking pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool before cutting into football shapes.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, substitute almond butter with sunflower seed butter.
  • These brownies can be decorated with white icing to resemble football laces.
