Description

A delicious and creamy lasagna layered with ham and cheese, topped with a rich Mornay sauce.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the sauce thickens. Add nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  5. In a baking dish, layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta cheese, half of the ham, and a third of the Mornay sauce.
  6. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and remaining Mornay sauce on top.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the ham.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
