Description

A delicious and hearty casserole that combines the flavors of lasagna with the convenience of a one-dish meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups cooked lasagna noodles, cut into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the meat mixture, half of the noodle pieces, and half of the ricotta mixture.
  6. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining meat mixture on top.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
  • This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
