Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour (can mix with whole wheat flour for added nutrition)
- 1 tbsp Kosher Salt
- 2 tsps Instant Yeast
- 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 1/2 cups Warm Water (around 110°F)
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (or Pecorino Romano)
- 1 tbsp Fresh Herbs (optional; Rosemary or Thyme)
- 1 tbsp Flaky Sea Salt
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley or Herbs (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine warm water and yeast in a mixing bowl; let it bloom for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Whisk together flour and salt in a large bowl, then create a well in the center.
- Add olive oil and frothy yeast mixture into the well; mix until a dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and transfer to a greased baking sheet, stretching it to fit.
- Make dimples all over the surface of the dough with your fingers; top with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs.
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle flaky sea salt over the surface for added flavor.
- Let the dough rise again for about 20 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown; remove from oven.
- Allow to cool slightly, sprinkle with fresh parsley or herbs, slice, and serve!
