- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
- ½ cup confetti sprinkles
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup dark brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch kosher salt
- 4 oz cream cheese
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- Pinch kosher salt
- Additional confetti sprinkles (to garnish)
Instructions
- Sprinkle yeast over warm water and milk, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and stir, then let sit for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Incorporate the yeast mixture with the remaining sugar, egg, and egg yolk in a stand mixer bowl.
- Whisk salt into flour and add 2 cups to the mixer. Use the dough hook to mix, adding more flour gradually and softened butter until smooth.
- Add confetti sprinkles and mix until distributed.
- Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 60 minutes).
- Punch down dough and roll into a rectangle.
- Spread softened butter on dough, mix filling ingredients (sugars, cinnamon), and sprinkle over dough.
- Roll into a log and cut into 12 pieces, placing them in a greased baking pan. Let rise covered for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden.
- Beat cream cheese and butter, add powdered sugar until smooth for frosting.
- Spread on warm rolls and top with sprinkles.
