Description

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup French onion soup
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Season the roast with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, sear the roast on all sides until browned.
  3. Place the roast in a roasting pan and top with the sliced onions and minced garlic.
  4. Mix together the beef broth, French onion soup, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl, and pour over the roast.
  5. Cover the pan with foil and roast in the oven for 3-4 hours, until the meat is tender.
