Description

A delicious and comforting recipe for French Onion Meatballs that combines the rich flavors of French onion soup with tender meatballs.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. In a skillet, sauté the sliced onions over medium heat until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Add the beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  6. Place the meatballs in a baking dish and pour the onion and broth mixture over them.
  7. Top with shredded Gruyère cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
