Description

A smooth, creamy espresso cream cheese frosting perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and more. Bold coffee flavor meets tangy cream cheese for a bakery-style treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, room temp
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temp
  • 2.5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tsp espresso powder (or 1 tbsp brewed espresso, cooled)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
  2. Mix espresso powder with vanilla, then add to the bowl.
  3. Gradually beat in the sifted powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time.
  4. Add a pinch of salt and beat until creamy. Taste and adjust espresso if desired.
  5. Chill for 10–15 minutes if too soft before piping or spreading.

Notes

Use full-fat, brick-style cream cheese for best results. Chill frosting slightly if your kitchen is warm. This recipe pairs perfectly with chocolate, vanilla, or cinnamon cakes.
