- 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, room temp
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temp
- 2.5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tsp espresso powder (or 1 tbsp brewed espresso, cooled)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Mix espresso powder with vanilla, then add to the bowl.
- Gradually beat in the sifted powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time.
- Add a pinch of salt and beat until creamy. Taste and adjust espresso if desired.
- Chill for 10–15 minutes if too soft before piping or spreading.
Notes
Use full-fat, brick-style cream cheese for best results. Chill frosting slightly if your kitchen is warm. This recipe pairs perfectly with chocolate, vanilla, or cinnamon cakes.
