Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Additional powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
  7. Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before rolling in powdered sugar.
  10. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
