Description

Delightful bunny-shaped soft pretzels that are perfect for Easter celebrations, blending creativity with buttery goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • Coarse salt (for sprinkling)
  • Chocolate chips or raisins (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. Bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces and shape into bunny forms.
  7. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Use chocolate chips or raisins for the eyes.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!

Notes

Ensure to knead the dough until smooth and elastic for the right texture. The baking soda bath is essential for classic pretzel flavor.
