- 2 cups dried pinto beans
- 5 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin

Instructions
- Rinse the pinto beans and soak them overnight or for at least 8 hours in water.
- Drain the beans and place them in the crockpot.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, and water to the crockpot.
- Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the beans are tender.
- Mash the beans with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency.
- Season with salt, pepper, lime juice, and cilantro if desired.
- Serve warm as a side dish or as a filling for burritos and tacos.
