Ingredients

- 1.5 to 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hoagie rolls or French bread
- Sliced provolone or Swiss cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Add sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
- In a separate bowl, mix together beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and return to the pot.
- Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls or French bread, topped with cheese if desired, and offer the au jus from the crockpot as a dip.
Notes
For added flavor, let the beef rest for a few minutes before shredding. Ideal for busy families or cozy gatherings.
