Description

A comforting and creamy chicken dish infused with rich flavors, perfect for family gatherings and cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Chicken Breast (Boneless)
  • To taste Salt
  • To taste Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 8 ounces Cremini Mushrooms
  • 2 cloves Fresh Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Full-Fat Sour Cream

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet; cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest.
  5. Sauté the chopped onion in the same skillet for about 3-4 minutes, until softened.
  6. Add the cremini mushrooms and cook until they’re browned, about 5-6 minutes.
  7. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  8. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to coat evenly.
  9. Pour in the chicken broth, stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  10. Add the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce; mix well to combine.
  11. Lower the heat and stir in the sour cream, warming it through without boiling.
  12. Slice the cooked chicken and return it to the skillet, coating it in the sauce.
  13. Simmer the stroganoff for a few minutes until everything is heated through.
  14. Serve over your choice of noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes, and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcook the chicken to keep it juicy. Experiment with fresh herbs to elevate the flavor.
