Description

A rich and indulgent Cookies and Cream Cake that combines chocolate cake with Oreo cookies for a delightful and nostalgic dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 batch of buttercream frosting
  • 1 batch of chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix the cocoa powder, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in chopped Oreo cookies.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Layer the cakes with buttercream frosting in between once cooled. Frost the outside with more buttercream and drizzle with chocolate ganache.
  10. Decorate with additional Oreo cookies on top if desired. Slice and serve.

For a healthier option, consider using sugar substitutes like Stevia or monk fruit for diabetes-friendly baking.
