- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Mix milk and vanilla extract in another bowl; then add to dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead gently before shaping into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut into wedges or desired shapes.
- Place scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For extra flakiness, refrigerate the dough for 15-30 minutes before baking. Use cold ingredients for the best texture.
