Description

Delicious scones that combine the flavors of cinnamon rolls and traditional scones, topped with a sugary glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Mix milk and vanilla extract in another bowl; then add to dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead gently before shaping into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut into wedges or desired shapes.
  6. Place scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For extra flakiness, refrigerate the dough for 15-30 minutes before baking. Use cold ingredients for the best texture.
