Description

A golden, cinnamon-sugar crusted breakfast stuffed with sweet cream cheese, this churro stuffed French toast is a nostalgic and indulgent treat perfect for cozy mornings and special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 4 slices thick brioche or challah
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter or neutral oil, for frying
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  2. Spread filling between two slices of brioche like a sandwich.
  3. Whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.
  4. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture for 10–15 seconds per side.
  5. Cook in a buttered skillet over medium-low heat for 3–4 minutes per side.
  6. Coat each toast in cinnamon-sugar mixture while still hot.

Notes

For deeper flavor, add nutmeg or cardamom to the egg mixture. Serve with strawberries or dulce de leche for an extra treat.
