Description

A delightful mashup of classic French toast and sweet churros, this Churro French Toast is dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate sauce for a comforting breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 thick slices of Challah bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Butter, for cooking
  • Powdered sugar, for serving
  • Chocolate or caramel sauce, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until well combined.
  2. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and melt some butter.
  3. Dip each slice of Challah in the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
  4. Place the coated bread in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar, and drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

Use day-old Challah for better absorption of the egg mixture. Don’t rush the cooking for ideal texture.
