Description

A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate cake and light, airy strawberry mousse in elegant parfaits.


Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake, cut into cubes (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp LorAnn Oils Strawberry Emulsion (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Mousse: Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Fold in the freeze-dried strawberries and LorAnn Oils Strawberry Emulsion (if using) gently.
  2. Prepare the Strawberry Compote: Combine fresh strawberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
  3. Prepare the Chocolate-Covered Strawberries: Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Dip fresh strawberries in the melted chocolate, then place on parchment paper to set.
  4. Assemble the Parfaits: Layer chocolate cake cubes at the bottom of serving glasses. Add a layer of strawberry mousse on top. Spoon some strawberry compote over the mousse. Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, ending with a mousse layer.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Top with chocolate-covered strawberries for a beautiful finish. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.
