Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Description

A rich and creamy chocolate buttercream frosting perfect for cakes and cupcakes.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until well combined.
  3. Add the milk and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
  4. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more milk until the desired consistency is reached.
  5. Use immediately to frost your favorite cakes or cupcakes.

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • This frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Let the frosting come to room temperature and re-whip before using if stored in the fridge.
