- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in the egg, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides.
- Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish, top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add Italian herbs to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving to retain moisture.
