Description
A classic Italian-American dish featuring chicken breasts sautéed and served in a rich Marsala wine sauce with mushrooms.

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off the excess.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the mushrooms and sauté until they are browned.
- Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the butter until melted and well combined.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Serve with pasta or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
- For a richer flavor, use a dry Marsala wine.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
