- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup carrots, sliced
- 1 cup celery, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine chicken pieces, chicken broth, carrots, celery, and onion. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 30 minutes.
- Remove chicken from the pot, let cool, and shred the meat.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter into the simmering broth.
- Cover and cook for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Add shredded chicken back to the pot and stir gently. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
