Description

A comforting and nostalgic Cheesy Hamburger Casserole that combines ground beef, pasta, and melted cheese, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup frozen peas (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  3. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
  4. Combine the cooked macaroni, beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, and peas (if using) in a large bowl.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and add breadcrumbs if desired.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted.

Notes

For extra flavor, layer some of the cheese within the casserole. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge.
