- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and fresh herbs until evenly distributed.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk.
- Mix until a soft dough forms, being careful not to overwork it.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cut a deep cross into the top of the loaf to help it rise.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
