Description

Deliciously spiced chai cinnamon rolls that are perfect for a cozy morning treat.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and spices.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread brown sugar and raisins on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a glaze made of powdered sugar and milk on top.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
