  • 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced

  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and diced pears.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cardamom, and salt.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and pears, ensuring everything is well coated.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
