Description

A delicious and sweet dish combining the flavors of brown sugar and pineapple with tender chicken.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Place chicken breasts in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the pineapple mixture over the chicken.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  7. Bring the remaining sauce to a boil, then stir in the slurry to thicken.
  8. Serve the chicken with the thickened sauce over rice or vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Can substitute chicken thighs for a juicier option.
