A comforting one-pot dish combining seasoned ground beef, fluffy rice, and zesty tomato sauce, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine in a large bowl the ground beef, rice, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix together in a separate bowl the tomato sauce and beef broth.
  4. Layer the meat mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
  5. Pour the tomato sauce mixture over the top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top (if using), and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use quality ground beef for better flavor and don’t skip the cheese if you enjoy it.
